Global Mission Projects: Church of the Ascension, Langley, BC

At Ascension Church we allocate 5% of our income to missions.

Our International projects include, the Africa Community Technical Service (ACTS), a mission organization working in partnership with the Church of Uganda.  They provide clean drinking water to rural communities. I worked for them for 12 years as the program manager and their board chair is a member of our congregation.

We also support the Smith family through Wycliffe Bible Translators who are members of our church, ministering in a remote area in the Brazilian jungle to the Seabo people. 

We are part of the Cuba Mission project. We are linked to San Lucas Venezuela and their clergy, the Rev. Pablo Ulloa & Meleisi Caballero  Once again some members also donate funds over and above the parish giving. One of our members, Patrice Weibelzahl,  who is fluent in Spanish was part of the ANiC mission team to Cuba two years ago.
