Bishop Dan at GAFCON Institute in Rwanda

Dear Friends,

Cathryn and I send you our warm greetings from GAFCON's Bishops Training Institute (BTI) in Rwanda, where we are with 20 bishops and their wives from Tanzania, New Zealand, Madagascar, Ghana, USA, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Canada, Nigeria, and Kenya for a week of learning together and encouraging one another in the ministry of a bishop. It has been a deep blessing for us to form new friendships with brothers and sisters from around the world, to worship together, to hear one another's testimonies and to receive very helpful teaching sessions throughout each day. This is a ministry that GAFCON provides at no cost and is great help for bishops from around the world who are beginning their ministry leading GAFCON dioceses.

At the beginning of the week we also took part in a consecration service for Paul Donison at the Anglican cathedral in Kigali. In November he was appointed to be a bishop by African bishops in order to take on the work of General Secretary of GAFCON. It was a joyful service that also required some stamina because it lasted almost five hours! It was great to spend time with Paul and his family and take part in this special occasion with them. Please pray for them as he begins this new ministry of serving in GAFCON.

It has been so good to see God's powerful work in this part of the globe. Please pray for the work of GAFCON as faithful Anglicans around the world are taking their part in the Gospel mission that Jesus has given to us.

Yours in Him,

+Dan

The Right Reverend Dan Gifford
